There was not much that Gene Goins could plan as far as a party goes for her 95th birthday, she said.
Goins has lived in Yukon 40 years. On Wednesday, Jan. 13 she turned 95 years-old.
She found surprise happy birthday signs in her front yard, thanks to the thoughtful efforts of family members.
“It was the biggest surprise I’ve ever had,” Goins said about the signs in her yard.
She spent her birthday with a few family members, but not all of them.

“You just can’t plan anything right now,” Goins said. “We’ve just got to wait for this pandemic to go away.”
She said she enjoyed the day with “part of her family.”
She said she did not have any tips for longevity.
“I’m just lucky to be here this long,” Goins said.
