The Yukon School Board Monday night appointed Brian Coulson to the Office 4 seat on the board.
“We are very pleased to welcome you,” School Board Member Suzanne Cannon said at a regular meeting in Yukon.
Coulson filed to challenge incumbent Michele Hawthorne in an April 6 election. But Hawthorne withdrew her candidacy after she learned she did not live within the Seat 4 boundaries of the district.
Coulson will automatically win the seat, according to the Canadian County Election Board.
Coulson was sworn-in to attend the meeting Monday night.
“Welcome Mr. Coulson,” Cannon said.
Coulson commented during the meeting. “I am just happy to be here.”
Cannon, Office 1, faces Andrew Lewis of Yukon and Board Member Don Rowe will face challenger Cody Sanders of Yukon in the two school board races to be decided by voters April 6.
