Icy roads and dangerously cold temperatures are anticipated in the coming days, and Yukon Public Schools will go all virtual for Tuesday, district officials announced.

“Due to the continued inclement weather forecasted overnight, Yukon Public Schools will have a remote/online CLP (Continuous Learning Day), tomorrow, Tuesday, February 9th, 2021.  This CLP day will follow our normal CLP schedule with live instruction,” according to a statement released on the district’s website.

All employees will work remotely.

A Yukon Public Schools bus could not get across the Sara Road bridge over the John Kilpatrick Turnpike Monday morning. The Sara Road bridge was shut down over Interstate 40, also due to the ice. Traffic snarled along I-40 between El Reno and Yukon.

In Kingfisher County, a woman died when the car she was driving hit ice on U.S. 81.

More ice is possible overnight and early Wednesday, the National Weather Service reported.
