Yukon Public Schools will be virtual Wednesday

Forecast calls for freezing drizzle again

Yukon Public Schools will be virtual on Wednesday.

Due to the icy streets, freezing temperatures and a forecast for more of the same, Yukon Public Schools will be all virtual on Wednesday, district officials announced.

Tuesday was a virtual day for students and staff, but Yukon schools were open for in-person learning Monday as the wintry mix moved in.

“The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory in effect from midnight tonight to 6 p.m. Wednesday in Canadian County for freezing drizzle and freezing rain with light ice accumulations possible. Difficult travel conditions are likely. The hazardous ¬†conditions could impact the morning commute. Slick sidewalks and parking lots are also expected, according to a statement on the district’s website.

“Yukon Public Schools will have a CLP, online/remote learning day on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021. Employees will work remotely, district officials reported.
