Yukon Public Schools will be virtual Wednesday

Forecast calls for freezing drizzle again

Yukon Public Schools will be virtual on Wednesday.

Due to the icy streets, freezing temperatures and a forecast for more of the same, Yukon Public Schools will be all virtual on Wednesday, district officials announced.

Tuesday was a virtual day for students and staff, but Yukon schools were open for in-person learning Monday as the wintry mix moved in.

“The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory in effect from midnight tonight to 6 p.m. Wednesday in Canadian County for freezing drizzle and freezing rain with light ice accumulations possible. Difficult travel conditions are likely. The hazardous  conditions could impact the morning commute. Slick sidewalks and parking lots are also expected, according to a statement on the district’s website.

“Yukon Public Schools will have a CLP, online/remote learning day on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021. Employees will work remotely, district officials reported.
