The doors of the latest big business in Yukon open for customers 7 a.m. Wednesday, May 5.
Atwoods Ranch & Home is ready for the public at 1670 Shedeck Circle.
The new store is 63,000 square feet on a 6-acre site on West End Pointe Drive between Okie Express Auto Wash and Avid Hotel.
Atwoods Ranch & Home is a farm and ranch supply company based in Enid.
Yukon city leaders hope the new retail store is a boast to sales tax revenues and local shoppers keep their dollars within city limits, Mayor Shelli Selby said.
“We are very excited Atwoods is getting ready to open. It will be a great addition to our community,” Selby said. “Not only will it help our tax revenue but will meet a need in our community. I love that their stock ranges from Farm and Ranch to Outdoor Living to Country Market. It will have a huge variety of merchandise.”
Atwoods has 64 stores in five states, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas.
Almost half of the stores are in Oklahoma.
In addition to farm and ranch supplies, Atwoods stores sell clothing, lawn and garden items, tools, hardware, automotive supplies, sporting goods, pet supplies, firearms, and seasonal items.
In 2020, the new site in Yukon is expected to be in a good location, said Chad Arnold, director of real estate and marketing for McGee Commercial Real Estate when the new store was announced..
McGee Real Estate Services L.L.C. has developed the property north of N.W. 10th Street and east of West End Pointe Drive.
