The Yukon seniors for 2021 paraded downtown on Saturday, May 8.
The parade was organized to honor all seniors graduating from high school this spring from Yukon, not just Yukon High School.
The route started at the high school campus and headed north on Yukon Parkway then west of Main Street, south on Garth Brooks Boulevard and then east on Vandament before making the way back to the high school.
Whether they rode with their friends in their own vehicles or were chauffeured in fancy cars by parents, students enjoyed the event as a memorable way to close-out their senior year with loved ones.
It was a beautiful day for a parade as well, with nice weather. Preston Smith and Nick Miller rode in the parade in a ’65 Mustang navigated by Smith’s mom Kaitlyn Childers and little sister Allison Smith.
There are 557 graduating and Southwest Covenant High School has 26 students.

YHS seniors Addison Wimmer, Brooklynn Bennett, and Anna Pogue rode from the back of the 1970 Playboy pink Mustang driven by Brooklynn’s mother.
Karly, Shanon, Glenn, and Gage Hietpas decorated YHS senior Gage’s truck with a flashing LED sign for the Yukon Senior Parade.
The YHS Class of 2021 had a fundraiser, the Luminary Walk, on Saturday, May 8.
The 2021 Yukon High School “Big Event” will be 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Thursday, May 20 at Miller Stadium.
The annual YHS commencement will be 7 p.m. Friday, May 21 at Miller Stadium.
