SWCS seniors earn scholarships

26-member graduating class also shares Bible verses

The Southwest Covenant Schools’ Class of 2021 earned scholarships totaling $1,645,136 and accepted awards totaling $692,984.

Members of the Patriots’ senior class have earned these college scholarships:

  • Ayden Carmack: Advantage Scholarship – University of Arkansas.
  • Kirk Cole: Troy Opportunity Scholarship –Troy University.
  • Jayden Cooper: Academic Distinction Scholarship – University of Central Oklahoma.
  • Alex Davis: Liberty Academic Scholarship, New Student Book Dollars Award and Liberty Champion Award – Liberty University.
  • Jacob Ellison: Academic Achievement Scholarship – Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
  • Amara Foret: Distinguished Scholar Award – University of Oklahoma.
  • Alexus Gormley: Academic Achievement Scholarship – Southwestern Oklahoma State University; Academic Achievement Scholarship – University of Central Oklahoma; John Brown Founders Award, Scholarship Fund, File Completion Award, and Trustee’s Academic Scholarship – John Brown University.
  • Tucker Holloway: Distinguished Scholar Award – University of Oklahoma.
  • Lexie Inge: Academic Excellence Scholarship – Oklahoma State University.
  • Ty Kelly: Sower Award – University of Oklahoma; and Founders Non-Resident Scholarship – Southern Utah University.
  • Emilee Liberton: President’s Leadership Council Scholarship and Academic Excellence Scholarship – Oklahoma State University.
  • Grayson Reuter: Academic Achievement Scholarship – Southwestern Oklahoma State University; Dean’s Scholarship – Oklahoma Christian University; and Academic Excellence Scholarship – Oklahoma State University.
  • Blake Riddell: Distinguished Scholar Award – University of Oklahoma; and President’s Scholarship Award – Oklahoma Christian University.
  • Emma Riggs: JBU Scholarship Award, JBU File Complete Award and Trustee’s Academic Scholarship – John Brown University.
  • Avery Roark: Academic Excellence Scholarship and Pete’s Pledge Scholarship – Oklahoma State University; Canyon Christian Schools Consortium Award and GCU Select Award – Grand Canyon University; and New-Arkansan Non-Resident Tuition Award – University of Arkansas.
  • Kassidy Rubes: Academic Excellence Scholarship – Oklahoma State University.
  • Sydney Shields: JBU Leadership Scholarship, Family Christian Service Award, JBU Scholarship Award, Beverly Meadors Sloan Scholarship, and Professor’s Academic Scholarship – John Brown University.
  • Austin Snipes: Academic Excellence Scholarship and Pete’s Pledge Scholarship – Oklahoma State University.
  • Allie Ward: Trustee’s Scholarship, Music Scholarship and Presidential Leadership Scholarship – Southern Nazarene University.
  • Clare Warner: National Merit Scholarship – University of Oklahoma; National Merit Scholarship – Oklahoma State University; Presidential Scholarship – Neumont College of Computer Science; President’s Scholarship – Westminister College; and Music Scholarship – Oklahoma Christian University.

The 2021 class president is Tyler Kelly and the class Bible verse is Job 23:10.

Valedictorians are: Ayden Carmack, Emma Riggs, Kassidy Rubes, Allison Ward, Clare Warner, and Laurel Wilbanks.

Salutatorians are: Justin Price, Alexa Inge, Alex Davis, Tyler Kelly, and Elizabeth Mitchell.

LIFE VERSES

Here are the life verses or favorite Bible verses of the 26 SWCS graduating seniors:

Kyler Lane Beshears: Kyler’s life verse is Colossians 3:17 – “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

Ayden Alexandra Carmack: Ayden’s life verse is Psalm 16:8 – “I always let the Lord guide me. Because he is my right and, I will not be shaken.”

Kirk Brady Cole: Kirk’s life verse is Proverbs 17:22 which says, “A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”

Jayden Wallace Cooper: Jayden’s life verse is Isaiah 54:17 – “No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord.”

Alexandra Jo Davis: Alex’s life verse is Ephesians 2:10 – “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them”.

Jacob Paul Ellison: One of Jacob’s favorite passages is Proverbs 4:25-26: “Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be strait before you. Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure.”

Amara Don Foret: One of her favorite verses is 2 Timothy 2:13 which says, “if we are faithless, He remains faithful for he cannot deny Himself.”

Alexus Elizabeth Gormley: Alexus’ life verse is Psalm 139:16-17: “Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written every one of them; How precious to me are your thought, O God! How vast the sum of them.”

Tucker Keaton Holloway: Tucker’s life verse is Phillippians 3:14 – “I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

Lexie Grace Inge: Lexie’s life verse is I Corinthians 16:14 – “Let all that you do be done in love.”

Tyler Levi Kelly: Tyler’s life verse is 2 Corinthians 12:9 – “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

Deaken Paul Koonce: Deaken’s life verse is Psalm 2:11 – “Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling”.

Emilee Lynn Liberton: Emilee’s life verse is Psalm 63:3 – “Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you.”

Elizabeth Nicole Mitchell: Lizzie’s life verse is 2 Timothy 1:7 which says, “for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”

Justin Daniel Price: One of Justin’s favorite verses is Proverbs 17:17 which says, “A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.”

Grayson Jake Reuter: Grayson’s life verse is I Thessalonians 5:16-18 which says, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

Alec Blake Riddell: One of Blake’s favorite verses is Micah 6:8 – “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness.”

Emma Elizabeth Riggs: One of Emma’s favorite verses is Psalm 61:2 – “From the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”

Avery Grace Roark: Avery’s favorite verse is John 14:27 which says, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”

Kassidy Rose Rubes: Kassidy’s life verse is Philippians 4:8 which says. “Finally, brother, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”

Sydney Reagan Shields: Sydney’s favorite verse is Matthew 6:34 – “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

Austin Cole Snipes: Ephesians 4:29: “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouth, but only such as is good for building, as fits, the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.”

Allie Elizabeth Ward: Allie’s life verse is Hebrews 6:11-12 – “Our great desire is that you will keep on loving others as long as life lasts, in order to make certain that what you hope for will come true. Then you will not become spiritually dull and indifferent. Instead, you will follow the example of those who are going to inherit God’s promises because of their faith and endurance.”

Clare Olivia Warner: Clare’s life verse is Isaiah 55:8-9: “My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my way higher than your ways and my thought than your thoughts.”

Jaelie Gabrielle Warner: Jaelie’s life verse is I Thessalonians 5:16-18: “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
