Police find driver hiding on a roof after 25-minute foot chase

A man who crashed a stolen pickup into a swimming pool on Castlebury Mansion in Yukon was arrested after he ran from officers and tried to hide on a roof, according to a police report.

About 8:25 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, a Yukon police officer tried to talk a man later identified as Leslie Brock standing next to a stolen pickup in the 4700 block of Smoking Oaks Drive. Brock got into the pickup and drove off, the Yukon police report states.

As the officer pursued, Brock crashed through a resident’s fence and into a backyard swimming pool in the 900 block of Castlebury Mansion.

The officer chased Brock on foot, the police report states.


The foot chase went through residential backyards for about 25 minutes. He tried to get into a home through the front door in the 900 block of Castlebury Mansion during the chase, according to the police report.

Officers found Brock hiding on a rooftop in the 600 block of Vicki Drive.

Brock was placed under arrest on complaints of possession of a stolen vehicle, attempted burglary, possession of burglary implements, reckless driving, destruction of property, possession of a firearm after a former felony conviction and eluding police.
