Bike lane construction adjusts for school drop-off, pick-up

Will affect traffic on Garth Brooks Boulevard

The City of Yukon is working with local schools and the contractor of the Garth Brooks Boulevard Bike Trail project to make sure that school drop-off and pick-up in the area is affected as little as possible.

While the road will be narrowed to one lane most of the day, it will re-open between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., as well as 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., during school days. The City will continue to monitor the project and make adjustments as needed. The project is expected to take 180 days to complete.

The goal of this project is to improve walkability and quality of life for Yukon residents.

The Garth Brooks Boulevard Bike Trail project will create a 1.033 mile, 10-foot-wide multi-use trail on Garth Brooks Boulevard, from Vandament Avenue to Main Street.

Crosswalk improvements are also included in the project at the intersection of Garth Brooks Boulevard and Vandament Avenue.
