

EL RENO – Yukon FFA members were named senior livestock judging champions this week during the 67th Annual Canadian County Free Fair at the Canadian County Expo & Event Center, 3001 Jensen Road East.
The Yukon FFA senior livestock judging team is comprised of FFA members Dylan Armitage, Addison Carson, Gavin Straka, and Garrison Straka.
The Canadian County Fair opened Monday and runs through Saturday at Canadian County’s new fairgrounds’ facility.
Canadian County residents are encouraged to come check out the newly opened venue, funded through county use tax collections.
Youth livestock competitions ended Wednesday night with the 4-H/FFA Farmhand Olympics.
The goat and sheep shows were Monday, swine show was Tuesday and beef show was Wednesday in the livestock barn/arena.
It was a “show and go” format this week for Canadian County FFA and 4-H livestock exhibitors, according to Canadian County Fair Board Secretary Brad Tipton.

Thursday’s county fair highlights include a poultry show, rabbit show and stick horse rodeo. The midway/carnival and Kids Zone open at 6 p.m.
Friday features a 11:30 a.m. pie contest in the expo center and the 6:30 p.m. El Reno Wranglers IPRA Rodeo in the arena. The midway/carnival and Kids Zone again will open at 6 p.m.
The week-long county fair ends this Saturday, Aug. 28 with activities including a Battle of Bands, magic show, kids’ pedal pull, Family Night Awards, and live entertainment by El Reno’s Hunter Thomas.
The Kids Zone opens at 10 a.m. and the midway/carnival opens at 2 p.m.
