A 10-year-old boy who was abducted from the Newcastle Casino, 2457 Highway, 62 N Service Road, when a man stole the car the boy was inside early Wednesday, was rescued by Canadian County Sheriff’s deputies and Oklahoma City police officers near Yukon.

About 4:20 a.m., a 2016 black Lincoln MKX was reported stolen from the Newcastle Casino, said Maj. Adam Flowers, Canadian County Sheriff’s spokesman.

An Amber Alert with information about the vehicle and the missing boy, Jaxson Brokopp, was issued by the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety about 8:35 a.m.

Just minutes later, a resident called 911 from S.W. 15 and Czech Hall at the Sahi Plaza, convenience store, 1521 S. Czech Hall Road, and said a vehicle matching the one in the Amber Alert was parked at the store.

At 8:39 a.m., Canadian County Sheriff’s deputies and Oklahoma City police arrived.

Inside the store, Seth Grant, 36, was questioned and arrested. The boy was found inside the store. He was not hurt. The boy told investigators that he did not know the suspect, but the man had told him he had a gun under the seat of the car and that “he better behave,” Flowers said.

Grant was taken to the Canadian County Jail in El Reno where he will be interviewed by detectives from the Chickasaw Lighthorse Police Department, Flowers said.

The mother of the boy faces a complaint of child neglect in Newcastle, Flowers said.
