A “Bird Walk for Beginners” will be 8 a.m. this Saturday, Oct. 9 at the Mollie Spencer Farm, 1001 Garth Brooks Blvd.

On this journey, experienced birders from the Oklahoma City Audubon Society will lessen the learning curve by hosting a guided walk of the Mollie Spencer Farm in Yukon.

Expert birders will discuss the basics of birding, including how to listen for bird calls and properly use binoculars.

Attendees will also receive a Mollie Spencer Farm Bird Checklist, developed by the Ornithology Department at the Sam Noble Museum, so they can keep track of all the birds they see.

This event will involve a lot of walking so plan accordingly.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own binoculars. A limited number of binoculars will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Due to COVID protocols, binoculars will not be shared.

This event is free, but registration is required.
