Donnie Lee Eskew was welcomed into God’s arms on October 31, 2021. He passed peacefully, surrounded by his loving family.
Don was born on September 22, 1938 in Yukon. He was the second of six children born to Leo and Amanda Eskew. Don graduated from Yukon High School in 1958. After graduation, Don joined the National Guard and served in the 45th Infantry Division. His daughter Tammy was born in 1959, and his son Phillip was born in 1960. His granddaughter Hayley was born in 1989.
After his children graduated from high school, Don moved to Rockport, Texas and started a carpet business. He met Ernest Woodbeck, his partner of 39 years, in 1982. They lived together in south Texas for the next three decades, where they made countless friends and memories and started a small business, House of Eskew Antiques, in a 27-room mansion in Refugio, Texas. Don and Ernie relocated to Yukon in March of 2009. During retirement, Don continued to sell antiques and worked part-time at Yukon Sharing.
Don was devoted to his family, his friends, and his dogs. He loved gardening, antiquing, country music, and the color red. Don is dearly missed by all who knew him.
