The Yukon Mayor’s Christmas Party and Essay Contest for Kids will be Saturday, Dec. 4, at the Robertson Activity Center, Hwy 66 & Mustang Road.

The City of Yukon Parks & Recreation Department and Mayor Shelli Selby encouraged all Yukon elementary students to participate in both the Mayor’s Essay Contest and the Major’s Christmas Party.

The Essay Contest will start at 9:30 a.m. The subject for the essay is “What Christmas Means to Me.”

The top three winners in each division (K-3 and 4-6) will be announced and have a chance to read their essay to the crowd. The free contest was open to all Yukon students in grades 1-6.

Immediately following the essay contest will be the Christmas Party from 10 a.m. to noon.
Lots of special holiday guests will attend the come-and-go event. There will be snacks, crafts, music, letters to Santa, and fun Christmas themed games.
