The Christmas season has caused a backlog of orders for embroidery and screen-printing jobs at one Yukon shop.
The work has piled up at Stitch Designs, Inc. but Rick and Karri Thompson are keeping up with the demand this month.
The husband-and-wife team have been making apparel more appealing with their shop Stitch Designs, Inc. for all embroidery and screen-printing at 300 S. Ranchwood Blvd. Suite 22, where the best way to place an order is to just drop in, said Karri Thompson.

Rick Thompson worked away on an order of red shirts that needed logos on each one for a company. He is skilled as an embroidery machine operator.
The work at Stitch Designs, Inc. has continued for 23 years at the same location.
Rick Thompson explained his craft this week, taking a short break from an order of 300 red shirts that needed corporate logos.
He can stitch logos on shirts, hats, jackets, anything the customers want to order.
The work is steady year-round of course, not just in December, said Karri Thompson.
“We do have some Christmas sweaters, but most of these companies are buying corporate apparel for their employees,” Karri Thompson said.
Rick Thompson said company logos are needed on lots of garments this time of year.
“Here lately, we’ve been doing a whole lot for Christmas. They (businesses) are buying for their employees. We did a bunch of Carhartt jackets for a trucking company that supplied all of their drivers with jackets,” Rick Thompson said.

Being close to Yukon High School, there is a big demand for Millers’ apparel. Shirts, shorts, jackets caps, and other garments can be stitched with red or white.

Orders have come from booster clubs, spirit clubs and others, Karri Thompson said.

There are plenty of pieces of clothing for all ages of Yukon Millers available.

Orders can be placed by visiting the shop weekdays. Call Stitch Designs, Inc. at (405) 350-0126. They are usually opened 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays but have extended hours for the holidays.
