EL RENO – A man has been jailed after a police chase that started in El Reno ended in Yukon, said Yukon Police Maj. Matt Fairchild.

El Reno police pursued a vehicle into Yukon city limits, but a Yukon officer ended the chase, Fairchild said.

A Yukon police officer in a patrol car used a tactical maneuver to knock the vehicle off the road. The pursuit reportedly went down Garth Brooks Boulevard.

El Reno police could not be reached immediately for details about the pursuit.

Christopher James Canaday, 29, of El Reno was booked into the Canadian County jail on complaints of eluding police after receiving a signal to stop and in such a manner as to endanger others, jail records show.

Canady was booked into the jail at 10:32 p.m. Wednesday.

Court records show Canady was convicted in Canadian County in 2016 on a robbery with a dangerous weapon charge. His suspended sentence was revoked in 2018.

El Reno, Yukon police and Canadian County sheriff’s deputies were involved in the pursuit.
