Despite wintry weather, roads cleared up by noon for those who wanted to get out to watch the Oklahoma State University Cowboys and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish square off in the Fiesta Bowl. The game was played in a warmer climate in Arizona. Temperatures were toasty with big screen TVs at Louie’s Grill & Bar in Yukon, 1600 Garth Brooks Boulevard.

Pulling for an OSU victory were the Hollenbaughs of Oklahoma City with Sam, Katy, Kamryn, 18 months, and Logan, 5. The Cowboys did not have a good start in the first quarter, falling behind by 14 points. Also at Louie’s was Jon and Jill Nelson of Union City. Jon Nelson said he was afraid OSU could be in for a long game.

The Pokes scored late in the second quarter but trailed in the third quarter. The comeback was well underway in the second half.

OSU went on to rally to fourth quarter win.
