And signs, gift bags and decorations were found where the board members assembled for a regular meeting, the first one of the year, on Monday, Jan. 10. January is school board appreciation month.

“For those of you who are wondering,” said Simeroth. “It is really just a night to say thank you for the thankless job that they do. This group puts a lot of time in and a lot of effort. And sometimes they get a lot of feedback. I think that is the politically correct way to say it. Good and bad. But they are the overseers of the policies and practices. We have been very fortunate since I have been here to have a variety of board members. We have always had a good board since I’ve been here.”

Simeroth said, “Thank you, thank you for your service to the kids and to the teachers.”
