Yukon voters head to polls

Area residents cast ballots Feb. 8 in Yukon Ward 1 City Council, Oklahoma City mayoral races

Yukon voters in three Ward 1 precincts are casting ballots Tuesday, Feb. 8 in the Yukon City Council election between incumbent Rick Cacini and challenger Rodney Zimmerman.

The winner earns a four-year term on the five-member city council; the new term starts in May.

The Ward 1 polling places are:

217 – Covenant Community Church, 2250 Yukon Parkway

218 – Discovery Church, 900 E Main Street

220 – Dale Robertson Center, 1200 Lakeshore Drive

Meanwhile, 19 Canadian County polling places are open Tuesday for the Oklahoma City mayoral election featuring four candidates, incumbent Mayor David Holt and challengers Carol Hefner, Frank Urbanic, and Jimmy Lawson.

An April 5th runoff will be needed if no candidate earns at least 50% of all votes cast. The next four-year term starts in April.
