Yukon’s Independence Day celebration will once again feature two large fireworks’ displays.
The Yukon City Council made it official March 15 by approving contracts with the fireworks’ vendor.
ARC Pyrotechnics, Inc. will perform the fireworks shows at dark on Sunday and Monday, July 3-4 during Yukon’s “Freedom Fest” celebration.
The Guthrie company has contracted with the City of Yukon for several years, and its Freedom Fest shows typically receive rave reviews.
The cost is $39,900.
Yukon Parks & Recreation Director Chris Lucas recommended the city council exercise the 2022 option based on a 2020 fireworks’ bid.
The nighttime fireworks highlight the City of Yukon’s annual “Freedom Fest” celebration at the Yukon City Park complex.
ARC Pyrotechnics will provide and discharge the fireworks and be responsible for set up, tear down and clean up of each display, according to the contract.
The City of Yukon will pay $17,400 for a fireworks’ display lasting 15-18 minutes at the July 3rd Yukon Veterans’ Tribute and $22,500 for a display lasting 20-23 minutes on July 4th to close out Freedom Fest 2022.
Carrying their lawn chairs and blankets, Crowds converge on the Yukon City Park complex and surrounding areas to watch the July 3-4 fireworks and listen to patriotic music.
The shows normally start around 10 p.m.
