Donald James Wedman

Donald James Wedman was born on September 25, 1940, to William F. and Louise Ella (Brueggen) Wedman in El Reno, Oklahoma. He joined his wife of 58 years, Mary (Magerus) Wedman, in eternal life on April 1, 2022.

He graduated from Yukon High School in 1958 and Oklahoma State University in 1962. He became a C.P.A. and worked at Arthur Andersen. After marrying in 1963, Don and Mary built a home and started a family in Yukon. Don started his own accounting firm in Yukon in 1974 to be able to spend more time with his family. He retired in 2012 and spent the remainder of his life taking care of his family and feeding friends and family from his garden.

He was preceded in death by his wife; son, Kevin Wedman; his parents; brothers, John Wedman and wife, Lurline; William L. Wedman, Laurence Wedman and wife, Lola; Bernard Wedman, Ronald Wedman; sisters, Rosemary (Wedman) Reynolds, Margaret (Wedman) Bellinghausen; Lynda (Wedman) Ronck and husband, Jake. He is survived by his son, Randall Wedman and fiancée, Susan Jenkins; son, Jason Wedman and wife, Lisa; daughter, Janet Wedman; daughter, Kelly Richardson and her husband, Mark; son, Darin Wedman and partner, Blake Lee; grandchildren, Chris Wedman and wife Shannon; Lauren Wedman and fiancée, Ryan Day; Connor Wedman, Griffin Wedman, Cody Richardson and Kaitlyn Richardson; great-grandchildren, Brody, Ella, and Baylor Wedman; sisters, Anita Gifford and husband, Steve; Diana McIntyre and husband, Pat; brother, Robert Wedman and wife, Cathy; sisters-in-law, Pat Wedman and Ada Wedman; brothers-in-law, John Magerus and spouse, Everett McKinney; and Bob Bellinghausen; numerous nieces and nephews from both Wedman and Wirt families, who were all his “favorite;” long-time family friends, Tim Allred and Tim and John Golden. The family extends special gratitude to Charlene Jester, caregiver and friend.

Known for his servant heart, he will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Viewing is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 7th at Yanda & Son Funeral Home, 1500 W Vandament Ave, Yukon, Oklahoma. Wake services will be held Thursday, April 7th at 7 p.m. at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, with Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, April 8th at 11 a.m. at the church.
