James Earl Steele

James Earl Steele, “Jim,” 72, of Yukon, Oklahoma, went home to be with Jesus on April 26, 2022. Jim was born on June 30, 1949, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

From 1968 to 1970, Jim proudly served as an artilleryman in the United States Army. During his time in the Army, he served in Vietnam from February to October 1969, where he was wounded in combat and returned to the United States shortly thereafter.

Upon receiving an honorable discharge from the Army, Jim worked at Oklahoma Graphics for 27 years as a printer and supervisor. He also owned his own printing company, Jim’s Printing, for over 10 years.

Jim enjoyed watching golf and football, and he was a huge fan and supporter of the Oklahoma Sooners.

Jim was a proud member of Christ’s Legacy Church for many years. In years past, he proudly served as a deacon and board member of the church. He was a Godly man and loved to read his Bible, and he always showed others, both in words and by example, the love of Jesus Christ.

Jim thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family, and he made friends everywhere he went. He loved his wife immensely and unconditionally, and he set a superb example of a loving and devoted father.

Jim is preceded in death by his father, Ervin Steele; mother, Fern (Hett) Steele; father-in-law, Jesse Hazen; grandson, Christopher Steele, Jr.; and his beloved dog, Miley.

Jim is survived by his wife, Linda Steele; mother-in-law, Darlene Hazen; brother, Bob Steele and wife Gloria; brother, Phil Steele and wife Marilyn; son, Christopher Steele; son, Brad Steele and wife Daniele; son, Kevin Steele and wife Susan; son, Matthew Steele and wife Kelie; granddaughter, Desiree Steele and fiancé Hunter Herron; granddaughter, Sierra Steele-Bagley and husband Bryson Bagley; granddaughter, MacKenzie Steele and fiancé Chase Tanner; granddaughter, Victoria Steele; grandson, Dylan Hodges; grandson, Brayden Steele; grandson, Caleb Steele; granddaughter, Isabelle Steele; grandson, Austin Steele; and great-granddaughter, Isla Herron, as well as a host of other family and friends.

Viewing will be held noon – 8 p.m., Monday, May 2, 2022, at Yanda & Son Funeral Home, Yukon, Oklahoma. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 3, at Christ’s Legacy Church, 11101 N. Morgan Rd., Yukon, Oklahoma, with internment following at the Yukon Cemetery, 660 Garth Brooks Blvd., Yukon, Oklahoma.
