A Yukon man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for sexually assaulting a baby.

Alexander David Defaria, 23, entered a plea of no contest to two felony counts of lewd/indecent acts to child under 16 during a recent hearing in Canadian County District Court.

Pursuant to a plea agreement between prosecutors and the defense, Special Judge Khristan K. Strubhar sentenced Defaria to serve 10 years in state Department of Corrections’ custody followed by 15 years suspended.

Defaria was given credit for time served and both counts will run concurrently, according to court documents.

He had faced up to 50 years in prison on the two counts.

After his release from prison, Defaria will be supervised by the DOC while on probation.

Defaria will be required to obtain a psycho-sexual evaluation and mental health assessment as conditions of his supervised sex offenders’ probation, court records show. He was represented by attorney Jason Spanich.

Defaria was charged Dec. 9, 2021, after an investigation by Oklahoma City Police. He had been booked Nov. 30 into the Canadian County Jail in El Reno.

Canadian County prosecutors alleged he committed the crimes between July 1 and Nov. 30, 2021, “by knowingly and intentionally touching the private parts” of a baby “in a lewd or lascivious manner by acts against public decency and morality.”

Defaria was age 21 and the victim was about 1-1/2 years when the acts occurred, according to court documents.

A victim’s protective order against Defaria was issued Jan. 3 by Judge Sara Murphy Bondurant in Oklahoma County District Court.

His listed address is in the 2000 block of S. Mustang Road in Yukon.
