Yukon ‘Nutcracker’ auditions set Aug. 28

Auditions for Central Oklahoma Ballet’s annual production of “The Nutcracker” will be Sunday, Aug. 28 at Doran-Vossen School of Dance, 519 Maple.

Dancers ages 7-11 years will audition from 2-2:45 p.m. and 12 years and above will audition from 3-3:45 p.m.

Dancers auditioning should be currently attending a ballet technique class twice a week minimum.

Dancers must bring a photograph of themselves.

Dancers should arrive at the studio dressed in proper attire for a ballet class; black leotard, pink tights, ballet shoes, and hair in a bun for girls; white tee shirts, black tights and ballet shoes for boys.

The audition fee is $15.

Central Oklahoma Company is a 501c3 company and consists of dancers from towns across central Oklahoma.

The 2022 Nutcracker performance dates are set for Saturday, Dec. 3 and Sunday, Dec 4 at the Yukon Fine Arts Center, 850 Yukon Ave.

A MAJOR PRODUCTION

For more than 25 years, Central Oklahoma Ballet has staged this major holiday production featuring national and international guest artists from major dance companies.

Performances are accompanied by the Oklahoma Community Orchestra conducted by Irv Wagner.

Yukon’s Nutcracker production is publicized across central Oklahoma and attract a regional audience.

The Central Oklahoma Ballet production of The Nutcracker is supported by the Oklahoma Arts Council, National Endowment for the Arts, and various corporate and individual donors.
