Wanda Lee Whitehouse, 80 years old, of Holdenville, Oklahoma, passed away on Aug. 16, 2022, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 22, 2022, at McNeil’s Funeral Home, with Carlon Tschetter of Covenant Community Church officiating.

Burial will follow at Fort Sill Post Cemetery at 2 p.m. Arrangements are by McNeil’s Funeral Service.

Wanda Lee Whitehouse was born in Holdenville, Oklahoma, to Albert Thetford and Ima Thetford on Jan. 10, 1942. She graduated from Crooked Oak High School, Class of 1959. She married Ted Loman Dec. 16, 1960, and had two children before divorcing and joining the military.

She later met and married the love of her life, William J. Whitehouse, on Nov. 14, 1965, in Ansbach, Germany.

She earned her bachelor’s degree at East Central University and her master’s degree from John Hopkins University. She worked as a high school English teacher in Colorado and Oklahoma and retired as an education counselor at Ft. Sill Oklahoma. She was a veteran and served in the U.S. Army as a captain.

More recently she was involved in the Mustang AA group, the Mustang Senior Center and Covenant Community Church Bible study group.

Wanda Whitehouse is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ima Thetford; her spouse, William J. Whitehouse; and her sister, Betty Knight.

Wanda Whitehouse is survived by her daughter, Lori Rubes and spouse Mark Rubes; son, Calvin (Teddy) Loman and spouse Stratis Catacalos; sister, Linda Johnson; and grandchild, Kassidy Rubes.

Memorials may be given to the Mustang Senior Center.
