Orville Miller, age 82, a resident of Whitesboro, Texas, died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2022, at Gainesville Nursing and Rehab in Gainesville, Texas.
He was born May 29, 1940, in Marion Township, Arkansas. He and Roberta married on July 8, 1963, in Morgantown, West Virginia.
He was a jovial and gregarious friend and neighbor who never met a stranger. He was in cabinet sales in the Oklahoma City area for more than three decades. After retiring to Texas in 2002, he spent a lot of quality time with his grandsons. He was a member of Legacy Pointe Central Baptist Church in Whitesboro.
Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his parents, Howard T. and Minnie L. Waldrop Miller; wife, Roberta Jean Lynch Miller; one grandson, Nathan Paul Shepherd; and four sisters.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sherry Lue Shepherd and Jimmy Dale; grandson, Joseph Dale Shepherd; granddaughter-in-law and Nathan Paul Shepherd’s wife, Lea Shepherd; two great grandsons, Brian Paul and Witten Nathan Shepherd; and his niece, Chelana Rodden.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Miller will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, 2022, at Redmen Cemetery with Brother Tim Johnson officiating under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen, Arkansas.
