Carl Allen Richey, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away Oct. 25 at Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Carl was born on June 15, 1934m to Gene and Grace Richey. He attended Blanchard schools before moving to Norman in the 6th grade, where he met the love of his lifem Beverly. They were married in 1954.
They moved to Anchorage Alaska in 1956 for Carl’s service in the U.S. Army. They moved to Yukon in 1961 to open the local TG&Y store. Carl was a longtime employee for TG&Y, serving Yukon at the Town Plaza location, where he made many lifetime friends and was known and loved by all. Carl gave back to his community, serving in many civic duties. His favorite was selling Yukon Methodist Church Groundhog Dinner tickets and being a greeter as the community came together for that annual event.
Carl is survived by his wife of 68 years, Beverly; his son, Mike and wife Rhonda; his son, Mark and wife Donna; his daughter, Brenda and fiancé Shaun; grandchildren, Nichole, Matt, Chet, Jordan, Brandon and Zachary; great grandson, Benton; great granddaughters, Tatum, Hunter and Aubrey; and loved by so many other family members and friends. Carl was preceded in death by his son, Tracy.
Memorial services are scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2022 at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Yukon. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Yukon Methodist Church, where Carl was an active member.
