Bill James passed away Monday, Oct. 31.
He was born in 1946 to Addie Lee and Harry James of Oklahoma City, who predeceased him. He graduated from Northwest Classen (Class of ‘64), as did his brother Mickey (Class of ‘58); who predeceased him, sister Jobella (Class of ‘60); and his twin sister Linda (Class of ‘64). Bill graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1968 with a bachelor’s in business administration and in 1973 with a Juris Doctor.
He served in the Navy as a lieutenant JG.
Bill spent his legal career as an Assistant Attorney General, public defender, Assistant District Attorney and in private practice in Yukon, Oklahoma.
He leaves behind his three children, son Michael and his son Michael, both of North Carolina; son David and wife Kristi of Oklahoma City; and daughter Mary Elizabeth Ketch and her husband David, and their three children, Julia, Hunter and Amelia. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Marcie James; many loving nieces and nephews and their children; as well as his loving friend, Lory Lewis.
Bill loved his family and loved wrestling.
The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday Nov. 5 at Vondel L. Smith Funeral Home, located at 13125 N. MacArthur Blvd, Oklahoma City.
