Mauretta Frances “Fran” Nobles

Mauretta Frances “Fran” Nobles passed from this life on Nov. 7, 2022.

Fran entered the family of Claude and Maurine Grider Hill in Sulphur, Oklahoma, on Feb. 12, 1938. She married Don Nobles on March 27, 1959, and they were great partners for 62 years.

Fran received her bachelor’s degree from East Central University and became a schoolteacher, then a preschool director and finally a director of senior centers in Edmond, then Yukon. She was also a full-time minister’s wife and a person of strong faith and mission. She and Don retired from ministry at the First United Methodist Church of Yukon.

Fran was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Jerry and Don Hill; and sister, Mary Sue. She is survived by sons, Scott of Yukon and Kent (Kathy) of Normal, Illinois; grandchildren, Haven, Josh and Emily; sister, Claudell White of Yukon; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Special thanks to the many special people who took care of Fran during her journey with Alzheimer’s.

There will be a visitation at Yanda and Son Funeral Home, Yukon on Monday, Nov. 14 from noon to 6 p.m., with the family present from 4-6 p.m. There will also be a Memorial Service to celebrate Fran’s life in early January.

Memorials can be made to: 1) the Senior Citizens Center of Yukon; 2) First United Methodist Church of Yukon; 3) St. Mark’s United Methodist Church of Bethany; or the charity of your choice.

Fran was loving and sweet to the end. She was strong yet playful. She showed up when you needed her. Her singing and laughter will be missed. She touched our lives in so many ways. Now she is free.
