Yukon Main Street will usher in the yuletide season this weekend with the first of two much-anticipated special events.
As the official Czech Capital of Oklahoma, the Yukon Main Street program will present its fourth annual “Yukon Czech Christmas Market” from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. this Saturday, Dec. 3 in the parking lot at 10 W Main.
“Our Czech Christmas Market is an ‘old-world’ European-style outdoor holiday market,” Yukon Main Street Director Vicki Davis said.
“This is where holiday fare, gifts and food items are sold from small booths in a ‘village’ setting as people gather to shop and socialize.”
Yukon’s rich Czech heritage makes this community the “perfect setting” for this popular annual event, she noted.
Yukon Main Street Board Member Heather Samuels confirmed there will be more than 60 vendors at this Saturday’s Yukon Czech Christmas Market.
Visitors will shop for a wide array of local arts, crafts and holiday items.

FEATURED ATTRACTIONS
Among featured event attractions are:
- Oklahoma Czechs’ dancers and royalty (1:30-3 p.m.)
- Village Santa (11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and 3:30-5:30 p.m.)
- Bohemian Knights Band (1:30-3:30 p.m.)
- Marshmallow roasting station
- Mulled wine and Bohemian Beer
- Kolache, the favorite Czech pastry
- Pivo (beer) garden
- Vintage fire truck and Christmas trees
Commemorative Yukon Czech Christmas Market mugs and steins will be on sale – while supplies last.
People are welcome to attend Saturday’s festivities wearing traditional Czech attire.
Samuels, a Main Street business owner, has been event coordinator for this Christmas market since it started in 2019. She brought the idea to Yukon after visiting the Czech Republic.
Also coming up soon is the fourth annual “Christmas on Main” holiday festival set 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8 in downtown Yukon. See upcoming edition of The Yukon Progress for more details.
