Bonnie Lou (Snow) Chavez

Bonnie Lou (Snow) Chavez departed this earth for her heavenly home on Jan. 19, 2023. She graced this world with her presence on Aug. 14, 1945.

The daughter of John Bryan and Audrey Snow, Bonnie was full of life and blazed her own trail. She was an entrepreneur throughout the course of her life. She owned and managed Fred’s Restaurant, Knight Club, Tradewinds and Cars on Credit. The business she loved most was the Jewelry Closet in Yukon. In retirement she would light up when telling every one of her fond memories making jewelry with her family and how they learned the craft from a mixture of VHS tapes and hard work.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Lee Chavez; brothers, James Ira, John Bryan and Donald Snow; sisters, Cecilia and Ruth; son, Jimmy Lee Chavez, Jr.; daughter, Darla Bottoms; and grandchildren, Stephanie Chavez Mayfield, Nicki Wilmot and Cavin Williams.

She is survived by her children, Johnny Seymour and wife Joni of Yukon, Janette Williams of Yukon and Fred Behringer and wife Andrea of Shawnee, along with 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Bonnie was active in CASA, serving as a court-appointed special advocate for children in the court system and also was an ambassador, serving at Discovery Church. As she aged and life slowed down she loved sitting with her family, laughing and telling stories of the comings and goings of the family as well as times gone by and smiling while holding her grandchildren. She loved to share her faith in Jesus Christ with everyone – especially her family – and hoped they would follow her footsteps and walk with the Lord.

Bonnie was gritty, feisty, stubborn, loved with her whole heart…and the world was better for having her in it.
