Michelle Bearden

Mrs. Michelle Bearden passed away on Feb. 1, 2023, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 66.

Born Kim Michelle Lane (but she always went by Michelle) to Burnette Lane, Jr. and Joan (Langdon) Lane on Sept. 22, 1956, in Orange, California. Michelle grew up in Santa Ana, California, and graduated from Santa Ana High School in 1974.

Michelle was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and has always had a deep understanding and love of the Gospel of Jesus Christ; as a young girl and later when she struggled in her youth, she never lost that inner faith.

Michelle met Delbert Bearden at a church singles function, and they were later Married & Sealed for Time and All Eternity on Nov. 5, 1993, in the Temple of Our Lord in Manti, Utah.

Michelle worked as a Human Resources Specialist throughout her career including at Rancho Santiago College (Santa Ana College) in California, UTA in Salt Lake City and Clark County in Nevada before retiring in 2005 due to medical conditions. After retiring, Michelle gave time at the local hospitals, elementary school and church when she could. Michelle loved to serve the children she was never blessed to have in life, and she never had a shortage of love to give. She served in various nursery and primary classes in church and loved to spend her time reading, playing board games, writing poetry and attending the temple as much as possible.

Michelle and her husband Delbert had been married for 29 years. Together, they left Southern California and moved, often following Delbert’s work, where they lived in Salt Lake City and Tooele, Utah; Las Vegas, Nevada; Delano, California; Vernal, Utah; and Yukon, Oklahoma, where she has left impressions of her love and spirit.  Although Michelle could never have children of her own, she helped raise two stepdaughters with whom she often shared the love and frustration of raising pre-teen and teenage girls. Now these girls have grown into women and have daughters of their own, whom Michelle adored so much.

Additionally, Michelle and Delbert hosted international exchange students – Tatia Khubulava (Republic of Georgia), Marina Chorna (Bilanchuk) (Ukraine) and Anna Klesh (Osipova) (Russia) – from 2000 to 2003. She has been joyous getting communication as these girls have become women and their families have grown.

Michelle is preceded in death by her father, Burnette Lane, Jr.; and sister, Dawn Lane. She is survived by her husband, Delbert Bearden; mother, Joan Lane; brothers, David and Doug; sisters, Stacy (Renke) and Gina (Lowe); stepdaughters, Bailey (Fox) and Lindsay (Deshane); and granddaughters, Tayler (Fox) and Lillian and Emily (Deshane).

Visitation will be held at 4-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2023, at Ingram, Smith, and Turner Mortuary in Yukon, Oklahoma.

Visitation will continue Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023, from 8:30-10 a.m. for friends and family at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Mustang, Oklahoma.
