Steven L. Williams, 76, of Yukon, Oklahoma, died Feb. 24, 2023, at home surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma, on June 11, 1946, the son of the late Cecil E. Williams and Anna Mae Williams. He was the oldest of four siblings.
On May 20, 1972, he married Kathy (Hudson) Williams. Over the years, Steve was involved in many sports, including motorcycle racing, sky diving and scuba diving. He and his wife enjoyed international travel, which included a yearly trip to his favorite destination, Zihuantanejo, Mexico. He was a pinball enthusiast and an avid reader.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mark E. Williams; sister-in-law Karen Hudson Page; and nephew, John Connor. He is survived by wife, Kathy; two sisters, Pamela Bauer (Patrick) and Cynthia Tackwell (Steven); a nephew, Matthew Todd Crisp (Melanie); and nieces, Lisa Burnam (Matt), Michelle Perez (children Savanna, Vanessa, and Gabriella); and Donna Page. Additionally, he is survived by great-nieces, Crystal Montee (Gail), Catharyn Fite, Cari Lewis (Kyle), Charity Klarich and Emma Crisp; and great-nephews, Christian Klarich and Evan Crisp.
Steve graduated from Ponca City High School in 1964 and went on to graduate from Oklahoma State University in 1972 with degrees in Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering. He worked as a Design Engineer for Dover Corp.-W. C. Norris, a Project Engineer for T.K. International, VP and General Manager of Ted Davis Yamaha and as a Manufacturing Engineer for Balon Corporation, from which he retired after 30 years in 2010. He was a life member of AMA, Society of Manufacturing Engineers and BLHOT motorcycle club.
Steve was an Eagle Scout Order of the Arrow. He had served in the Army Reserves.
Steve was blessed to have received support and care by Crystal Montee, Pamela Bauer, Holly and Rick Burns, Maria Shrader Johnson, Sandra Davis and Wilma Chandler. Also, special thanks from the family to Drs. Terrie Gibson, William Schnitz, Imir Yasin, Gary Larson and Jason Breed, as well as Integris Hospice.
Honorary pallbearers are Patrick Bauer, Ted Davis, Gail Montee, Jr., Toar Driskill, Todd Fogler, Rick Burns, Kenny Bright and Kerry D. Smith.
A visitation and video presentation for Steve will be held on Thursday, March 2, at 10 a.m. to noon at Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel located at 1500 W. Vandament Ave., Yukon, Oklahoma. A public graveside service officiated by Tracy Wilson will begin at 2:30 p.m., followed by Military Honors at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 4302 North Highway 81, Duncan, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to OMRF for IgG4-RD research or Integris Hospice.
