Virginia Ann Schwarz

Virginia Ann Schwarz “Ginny”, 71, a resident of Yukon, died April 17, 2023.

Ginny was born on August 18, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. As a child, she lived in Minnesota, Virginia and Florida before landing in Oklahoma in 1971.

She graduated from University of Oklahoma in the first class of Dental Hygienists in 1973 and practiced until 1980, when she decided to become a mother full time.

Ginny met Philip in February 1976, and they were married on Sept. 12 of the same year. They built their home in Yukon and raised their three sons, John, Keith and Doug and daughter, Carrie Marie.

She gave selflessly throughout her life and countless people were aided by her generosity. She enjoyed her pets, horseback riding, ceramics, painting, reading and travel. She dedicated many hours to charity by contributing time and resources to many different causes. Ginny never missed a chance to celebrate life. She cherished visits from her grandchildren and never missed a birthday.

Ginny is survived and missed by her loving husband, Philip Schwarz; sons, John, Doug and Keith and his wife Jodi; and her three grandchildren, Brody, Emma and Conner Schwarz. She will be remembered by her mother, Lucille Nelson; siblings, Mary Jones and her husband Jerry Jones and Joe Nelson and his wife Cara Nelson. Her memory lives on through many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Ginny was preceded in death by her daughter, Carrie Marie; her father, John D. Nelson; her brother, George Nelson, his wife Susy and their two children, David and Kate Nelson. She celebrated her daughter Carrie Marie on earth and is finally holding her again. Her legacy will continue, having modeled a life of meaningful acts of love and service following Christ’s example.
