More than 40 volunteers provided a “clean sweep” of Yukon Main Street.

Yukon’s annual Downtown Clean Up, which was part of the 2023 Great American Cleanup, was sponsored by Keep Oklahoma Beautiful, OG&E and Yukon Stormwater.

Volunteer participants on Saturday morning, April 29 swept sidewalks, pulled weeds from sidewalk cracks, picked up debris, and performed general cleaning on Main Street between Cornwell and Garth Brooks Boulevard.

The primary clean-up area was downtown’s “historic core” in the 400 and 500 blocks of W Main.

With more help this year than in years past, volunteers were able to cover a larger area this time.

Yukon Main Street’s annual Downtown Planting Day will be 8 a.m. Saturday, May 6, as part of spring beautification efforts.
