Beatrice Annette Rubes passed away on May 5, 2023, in Yukon, Oklahoma, at the age of 80. Beatrice was born to parents Gus A. and Anna M. Marquardt on Sept. 7, 1942, at the El Reno Sanitarium Hospital in El Reno, Oklahoma.
Growing up on the family farm of 18-20 acres, she learned to appreciate the beauty of nature and learned the lesson of dedication and hard work. Beatrice attended school in the El Reno area along with her brother Jason and graduated in 1960 from El Reno High School. A year spent at Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasaw, Oklahoma, prepared Beatrice for a successful career as a secretary at the Kingwood Oil Company, Yukon Flour Mill, Weaver-Stevener Law Office, Choosey Beggar and Oneok Drilling.
Beatrice’s devotion to God was evident throughout her entire life. She was baptized at the age of 12 at Trinity Lutheran Church, where she later married Edward D. Rubes on Oct. 21, 1961. They started attending Heaston Church in the 1970s, where Beatrice served as the President of the Heaston Women’s Ministry Board for a time.
Beatrice and Edward proudly welcomed their children, Debra in 1965 and Mark in 1967, and she stayed home to raise them in the El Reno area. Beatrice’s heart of humble servanthood instilled a love of caregiving in both her children, and they have continued her legacy by serving others in the healthcare industry.
Beatrice’s beautiful gardens were well known and appreciated. She was always cooking one of her special recipes for her family and found joy in being the number one Grandma!
Beatrice will be missed by all who knew her and loved her dearly.
