With full hearts but great sadness we said goodbye to our Mom, Nanie and sister, Ann Morgan Markham. Ann was born Feb. 8, 1940, in Oklahoma City to Virgil and Juanita Murdock and passed peacefully May 21 at her home in Yukon, Oklahoma.
Ann graduated from Central High School in 1958. She married her high school sweetheart, Benny Morgan, on April 19, 1957. Together, they raised three children until Benny’s death in 1994.
She worked for many years as a financial secretary at Taft Middle School and retired from the Oklahoma City Public Schools as the receptionist at the administration building.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Benny Morgan; brothers, Bud Murdock and Charles Murdock; and sisters, Evelyn Brumbaugh, Nita Jo Amrhein and Mary Lou Bailey.
Survivors include her husband, Douglass, whom she married in 2010; children, Dennis Morgan and wife Vikki, Karri Thompson and husband Rick and Shelly Gallegly and husband Dale; brother, Dan Murdock and wife Carol; sister, Donna Kaiser and husband Bob; nine grandchildren, Ben (Andrea), Jarred (Heather), Jacob (Brie), Tyler (Meghan), Katie (Alan), Tori (Wyatt), Morgan, Lauren (Joe) and Carly (Brandon); 15 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends whom Ann loved dearly. Her family and friends meant everything to her.
Services will be held Friday, June 2 at 2 p.m. at Mercer-Adams Chapel, Bethany, Oklahoma, with interment to follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Oklahoma City.
