Yukon’s Spanish Cove Retirement Village in Yukon has earned the “Best in Class” award from their workers’ compensation provider, Strategic Comp.
Spanish Cove CEO/Executive Director Don Blose accepted the award Aug. 3 presented by insurance agent Chad Williams of Security Brokerage.
This award is given to retirement communities by Strategic Comp that show outstanding commitment to employee safety and health. Strategic Comp’s loss prevention consultant Kevin Turner said Spanish Cove has achieved over three years and over one million hours worked without a lost time workplace incident.
“This is a truly remarkable accomplishment for any retirement community where resident care is being provided daily,” Turner said.
“But what makes this achievement even more remarkable is during this time was also the COVID pandemic that really impacted a lot of our retirement communities.”
Strategic Comp and Spanish Cove have partnered for 10 years – and the results have been amazing.
The Yukon retirement community has worked with Strategic Comp to lower their workplace modifier from 1.04 in 2013 to an impressive .58 in 2023.
