Joe William McComas passed from this life on September 23, 2023, in El Reno, Oklahoma. He was born on December 25, 1928, to Grover and Mabel (Jensen) McComas on the farm west of Minco. Joe attended Minco Schools, graduating in 1947. He married Arlene (Sis) Feddersen on July 14, 1950, in Union City, Oklahoma. They made their home in Minco where they were engaged in farming and ranching their entire lives. They instilled the love of farming in their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene, in 2019. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and by his brothers, Kenneth, Garvin and (twin) Jack, and sisters, Hazel Bortell and Mary Ellen Guthrey.
He is survived by two children, Janice McComas of El Reno, Oklahoma, and Chris McComas of Minco, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Cody McComas and wife, Katie, Cole McComas, all of Minco, and Ceiley McComas of Norman and Janaya Estes of Tempe, AZ; two great-grandsons, Cohen Joe McComas and Cam Jeffrey McComas both of Minco. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday (September 28) at the Evergreen Cemetery in Minco with Jim Ross officiating. Joe will lie-in-state on Wednesday at Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home, Minco.
