Compassionate Hands, Yukon Sharing merge

Become ‘Compassionate Sharing: Building Stronger Communities Together’

1035

Compassionate Hands and Yukon Sharing are thrilled to announce that they have merged to form Compassionate Sharing.

This merger has been in the works for most of the year but has been a dream and desire of the community and organizations for much longer. The mission of Compassionate Sharing is to provide essential resources and support to those in need.

Through their food and clothing pantry, transportation services, and rent assistance programs, Compassionate Sharing aims to create a safety net for those who are most vulnerable in our community.

The new organization will leverage the strengths of both Compassionate Hands and Yukon Sharing, combining forces to better serve the community.

Both organizations will continue to serve residents at their same locations, now with the same mission.

These services include Yukon Sharing providing food and clothing pantries at 4 N 6th St. and Compassionate Hands providing transportation services and rental assistance at 119 S 6th St., both in Yukon.

“This merger is the culmination of years of hard work and a deep commitment to helping those in need,” said Betty Corn, president of Compassionate Sharing. “We’re excited to combine our efforts and resources to achieve our shared goal of creating a stronger safety net for our community.”

With the continued growth in numbers of those needing services, Compassionate Sharing appreciates community support and volunteer efforts more than ever.

UPCOMING ACTIVITIES

In October, they have two great opportunities for people to get involved.

On Friday, Oct. 20, Compassionate Hands will host their beloved Fall Card Party fundraiser.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be cards and game playing, lunch, and door prizes.

All funds raised support the transportation of seniors and those with disabilities as well as aids with the critical needs of those in the Yukon community.

Tickets can be purchased at Compassionate Hands or at compassionatehandsyukon.com. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for businesses looking to help their community.

To support the food pantry as we enter the holiday season, Yukon Sharing has their fun and festive Boo signs available.

For $25, people can purchase a sign and surprise a friend or family member with a BOO in their yard. Signs are available at the Yukon Sharing location or by calling (405) 354-9456.
