Ozella Virginia Mathis Brown Hinton, 92, of Yukon, OK, went to be with her Lord and Savior October 22, 2023, in Oklahoma City, OK.
Ozella was born October 23, 1930, in Hot Springs, Arkansas to Edgar and Novella (Magby) Mathis. She grew up in the country in Hot Springs, Arkansas and graduated from Lakeside High School in 1949. She played basketball during her high school years and always loved to dance.
Ozella married William L. Brown on Mary 1, 1950 and the two of them shared 51 amazing years together. From their union came their four children, Marsha, Oleda, Susan, and Little Bill. She later married Jonson (Jack) Hinton on December 23, 2006. Jack and Ozella enjoyed spending time traveling and dancing together.
Ozella loved spending time with her family and would never miss an opportunity to spend time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She enjoyed being outside gardening and loved to go dancing. She also loved being in the kitchen cooking.
Ozella was a member of the First Baptist Church in Yukon.
Ozella is survived by her husband, Johnson (Jack) Hinton; daughters, Marsha Felton and husband Danny, Oleda Hicks and husband Ron, and Susie Lehl and husband Ron; eight grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren.; and sister, Helen Steen.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar Mathis and Novella (Magby) Millsap; her first husband, William L. Brown; son, William L. Brown, Jr. (Little Bill); great-grandchild, Savannah Lehl; and her brothers, Lee Mathis, Ronnie Mathis, and Roy Millsap.
A funeral service to honor the life of Ozella will be held at 1 p.m., on Friday, October 27, 2023, at the First Baptist Church of Yukon (15 S 6th Street, Yukon, OK 73099). Come and go viewing will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Thursday, October 26 from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m.
