EL RENO – An El Reno man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Thursday morning in Canadian County.
The fatality collision occurred about 10:27 a.m. Nov. 9 on Interstate-40 eastbound just east of Radio Road
A 1998 Ford F-150 driven by El Reno’s George McGhee, 88, was traveling eastbound on I-40 at Radio Road.
The vehicle departed the roadway to the right before striking a fence and coming to rest in a ditch, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.
McGhee was taken by Pafford EMS ambulance to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. He was pronounced dead at 11:38 a.m. from injuries sustained in the traffic collision.
The cause of the fatal crash remains under investigation by OHP troopers.
McGhee was wearing his seatbelt and airbags deployed in the pickup, the OHP report shows.
The Canadian County Sheriff’s Office and El Reno Fire Department also responded to the scene.
