A Yukon High School teacher was arrested Wednesday on a rape complaint with a minor.

Hunter Joanne Day, 22, is in custody at the Canadian County Jail and was booked for second-degree rape, possession of child pornography, and facilitating sexual contact with a minor.

Day is an emergency certified teacher with a degree in Science from Oklahoma Baptist University. She began teaching at the high school this fall.

Sheriff Chris West is preparing to release the details of the arrest. The Yukon Public School District said in a prepared statement that nothing in her background check or application process led them to “the possibility of this event.”

She is being held on an $85,000 bond. Watch for updates.
