Mark Darnell Smock was born on September 21st, 1947 in OKC, OK. He left this earth to be with his Lord on October 6th, 2020 in OKC, OK.

When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation

And lead me home, what joy shall fill my heart.

Then I shall bow with humble adoration

And then proclaim, my God, how great Thou art.”

Mark grew up in the OKC area and was a 1965 graduate of Northwest Classen High School. He met his wife, Joyce Marie Douthitt, while attending Oklahoma State University and they were married on December 11th, 1971. Mark and his wife moved to Yukon, OK in 1974 where she still resides today.

He retired from a career as a United Parcel Service feeder driver in 2007, where he earned many honors including the Three Million Mile Driver award and Driver of the Year Award for the state of Oklahoma.

Mark and his wife were active travelers and toured all over the country. Their favorite places being Destin, Florida and Durango, Colorado. He took pleasure in and collected many things throughout his life including trains, coffee cups, hats and vacation memorabilia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Wilma Smock and a sister Pamela Klinert. Mark is survived by his wife, Joyce; brother, Les Smock; daughter, Tina Gibney and husband Greg and three grandchildren: Thomas, Rose, and Sammy Gibney, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mark and his wife are very active church members. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to World Missions through Bethel Community Church.
