EL RENO – Investigators are combing through security video after a Canadian County government office was vandalized.

An unknown suspect early March 15 hurled a rock toward the glass front of the Canadian County Sheriff’s Office, 208 W Rogers next to the county courthouse.

“Somebody at 2:52 a.m. this morning threw a big rock in our office up front here, and then ran away,” Maj. Ross Reuter said Monday afternoon.

“He didn’t enter the building.”

Surveillance video recorded in front of the sheriff’s department shows someone committing the act which caused the glass to shatter.

But no specific suspect description was released.

“We’re investigating it,” Reuter said. “Our investigator has obtained a few other videos.”

There are security cameras on properties around the county sheriff’s office and jail, administration building and judicial complex.

Canadian County maintenance personnel on Monday boarded up the area where the glass was broken, and it will be replaced as soon as possible.

Anyone with information about the vandalism should call the Canadian County Sheriff’s Office at (405) 262-3434.
