Two Yukon-area residents were found dead inside their bedroom late Monday afternoon after an apparent-murder suicide.

Oklahoma City Police responded about 5:42 p.m. Feb. 6 to a home in the 11700 block of Hollyrock Court in the Woodrun Addition near Reno Avenue and Mustang Road.

A 74-year-old man shot and killed a 35-year-old woman before turning the gun on himself, investigators said.

The shooter has been identified as Rophy Charles Bishop and the victim as Mary Bishop. Police have not confirmed how the two were related.

Rophy Bishop had felony convictions in Canadian County for failure to comply with the Sex Offenders Registration Act and unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance and in Oklahoma County for first-degree rape, forcible sodomy, lewd acts/proposals to child, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

He also had a misdemeanor conviction in Canadian County for domestic abuse.

The site of Monday’s fatal double homicide is in Oklahoma City limits but has a Yukon address.

Mary Bishop’s death marks Oklahoma City’s seventh homicide of 2024.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asking to call the Oklahoma City Police Department’s Homicide Tip-Line at (405) 297-1200.
