YPS Assistant Superintendent Desarae Witmer announces Surrey Hills Elementary’s Kensley Mong as the district’s Rookie Teacher of the Year.

Kensley Mong of Surrey Hills Elementary School has been named Yukon Public Schools’ Rookie Teacher of the Year.

Mong has shown exceptional dedication, innovation and passion in her first year of teaching at Surrey Hills.

“Mrs. Mong’s impact on her students has been profound, creating an environment where curiosity and learning flourish,” YPS officials posted on social media. “Her commitment to excellence and her ability to inspire both students and colleagues alike have truly set her apart.”

Mong was credited for her outstanding contribution to the Yukon school district and for making a real difference in the lives of her students.

Her enthusiasm and fresh perspective bring so much value to the Surrey Hills school community.

“Yukon Public Schools is proud to have teachers like Mrs. Mong who embody the spirit of education and pave the way for future generations. Here’s to many more years of inspiring, teaching, and leading!” the YPS post reads.
