Yukon is getting ready to flip over flapjacks.

And the Yukon Fire Department will benefit.

The Yukon Rotary Club is “gearing up” (pun intended) for its 56h Annual Pancake Breakfast set Saturday, April 27 at the Dale Robertson Center, 1200 Lakeshore.

Rotarians will cook and serve “all-you-can-eat” pancakes and sausage from 7-11 a.m. Guests will have their choice of coffee, milk and chocolate milk to drink.

Yukon Rotarian Betty Corn pointed out she and fellow members “will be serving up some hometown hospitality, too.”

Funds raised through breakfast and raffle ticket sales, along with table and specialty sponsorships, support the cause.

Proceeds from Yukon Rotary’s April 27th pancake feast will help the Yukon Fire Department purchase updated hose nozzles. The event will further support organizations like Compassionate Sharing, Yukon Parks & Recreation, Yukon Police Department, Cardinal Pointe Family Justice Center, Beautiful Day Foundation, and more.

The local club also contributes to the International Rotary Foundation serving people in need around the world, with such programs as disaster relief aid, clean water projects and the eradication of polio.

Rotary Pancake Breakfast tickets are $8 each, and children under age 3 will eat free.

Tickets are available from any Yukon Rotarian or from Becky Durham at Interbank, 309 S. Ranchwood Blvd.

APPLE WATCH RAFFLE

Rotarians are selling raffle tickets ($1 each) for an Apple Watch Series 9 (GPS) valued at $400 and several other prizes. Drawings will be held several times during the April 27th morning pancake feast.

“You do not have to be present to win,” Corn pointed out.

The Yukon Rotary Club meets at noon every Tuesday at a new host site – the private dining room at Spanish Cove Retirement Village, 11 Palm.

“Guests are always welcome,” Corn said.

At a recent meeting, Past President Bill Martin encouraged fellow Rotarians to show up by 6:30 a.m. April 27 to help with this year’s pancake breakfast.

Members are signing up to work the grill, registration, serving table, beverage table, and serving window.

Martin asked club members to approach businesses interested in sponsoring tables of six.

“The more the merrier!” he proclaimed.
