Philip Don Willoughby

Philip Don Willoughby, age 69, of Hydro, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully after a brief illness Thursday April 13, 2023, with his loving wife Theresa by his side.

Throughout his life he was better known as Phil, Dad, Grandpa or honey. He had a long career in Auto Body and Paintless Dent Repair, a trade he excelled in across the decades. Phil loved anything on wheels and had a knowledge so vast it never failed to impress. He could look at any car from the last century and tell you the make, model and year it was made – maybe even the trim level and which parts were aftermarket if he got close enough to look. This love started at the young age of 5 as a way to connect with his grandfather and uncles.

While he loved cars, even rebuilding an old hot rod from the ground up, motorcycles were his passion. The feeling of being on two wheels, feeling the wind and sun unencumbered, embodied his zest for life. Phil was a one-of-a -kind man, always on the hunt for adventure and new sights to see. He enjoyed time outdoors and could often be found exploring the creeks, canyons and hills of Oklahoma, usually accompanied by his beloved blue heelers. Phil’s adventurous spirit, kind heart and big smile will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all those who knew him.

Phil was preceded in death by both of his parents, Don David Willoughby and Mary Lynn Nicholson.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa Willoughby; sons, Chris and Micah; grandchildren, Sophia, Olivia and Natalia; sister, Diana; brothers, Mike (Diane) and Gary (Rita); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be held from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at the funeral home. Celebration of life services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 19 at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Yukon, Oklahoma.
